The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ondo State has dismissed the recent rumours on social media that a former Governor of the State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko is planning to dump the party for the Social Democratic Party, (SDP).
The Former Nigerian Ambassador to Greece and Chairman, Ondo State PDP Elders’ Forum, Professor Olu Agbi who disclosed this on Radio Nigeria in Akure, noted that the former Governor had assured the party’s leadership that he would never defect from the PDP to another party.
Professor Agbi explained that PDP had resolved to be more formidable to have a good outing ahead of the 2019 general election. He also added that Nigeria did not need third force and the PDP remains the best alternative to the ruling APC in the country.
Also Speaking, a former PDP governorship Aspirant, Mr. Saka Lawal described the continuous closure of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko, (AAUA) by the Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration as unacceptable, noting that the PDP and the people of Ondo state believe that such action would affect students and academic standard of the institution negatively.
