Some angry youths have taken to the street in protest obstructing vehicular movement along the busy Keffi-Abuja highway.
The youths carrying placards with different inscriptions have expressed their displeasure over the ongoing demolition of structures in New Nyanya (Gbagyi) by the Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB).
They urged Governor Abdullahi A. Sule to hands off from their ancestral home.
According to reports, the demolition was without any prior notice and against a court judgement which ruled in favor of the natives.
Speaking, a youth leader, Bawa Shecks described the act as unlawful and contempt of court.
Shecks urged the governor to swiftly intervene and clear his name.
“Who is behind this unlawful demolition after Governor Sule said he has no interest in the ancestral land of the Gbagyi people”, he added.
