The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has recorded additional 869 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 149,369.
The Public health agency announced this on its social media pages .
According to the Health Agency additional 8 COVID-19 deaths were recorded on Wednesday, raising the total fatality in the country to 1,787 since the outbreak.
The new infections were reported in 23 States and the Federal Capital Territory,FCT with Lagos reporting 228 cases followed by Rivers with 79 cases a sharp drop some the 95 recorded on Tuesday.
Other States reporting new infections are ;
Taraba-73, Oyo-66, Ogun-60, FCT-58, Plateau-56, Kwara-38, Ondo-38, Osun-24, Kano-22, Nasarawa-21, Abia-19, Edo-19, Akwa Ibom-19, Cross River-10, Delta-9, Benue-8, Ekiti-6
Borno-6, Katsina-4, Bauchi-3, Bayelsa-1and Zamfara-1.
Till date a total of 1,441,013 samples have been tested across the country out of which 149,369 have been confirmed and 125,722 discharges.
Wednesday’s discharges according to the NCDC include 377 community recoveries in Lagos State, 70 in Plateau State & 28 in Benue.
