Bandits have allegedly killed a student of Government Science College Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State and abducted several others, including teachers.

The attack was said to have occured at about 2am on Wednesday when the gunmen in military uniform stormed the school premises which has about 1,000 students shooting sporadically overpowered the security guards leading to the death of one student.

Reports said the operations started from the staff quarters where teachers and their family members residing in the school premises were raided and ended in the students’ hostels and in the process, some other students were also wounded by gunshots.

The Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, Alhaji Ibrahim Inga who confirmed the incident said profiling of the students and teachers was in progress to determine how many were kidnapped.

Security Agencies have started tracking the movement of the abductors with the Nigerian Air Force helicopter hovering to track the location of the students and teachers.
