The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)on Sunday confirmed additional 138 new cases of coronavirus across the country bringing the total confirmed cases to 53,865
According the new data in a tweet,the agency noted that the new cases were reported from 13 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Plateau which is the new epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria reported 55new cases while Lagos recorded 15 new cases.

Other States with new infections are; Ebonyi- 11, and Oyo-11, Abia – 8, Anambra – 7, FCT – 7, Rivers – 7, Kaduna – 6, Ondo – 5, Kwara – 3, Bauchi –1, Benue – 1 and Edo – 1.
Data from the NCDC’s latest update on the pandemic revealed that 199 more infected patients have been successfully treated and discharged from various isolation centres in the country bringing the total number of discharged patients to 41,513.
Although two more people lost the battle to COVID-19, raising the death toll from the disease to 1,013.
