The Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, has received 350 National Identity Number, NIN, enrolment devices to boost digital inclusion in Nigeria.
The Postmaster General and CEO of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, received the items from a delegation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, KOICA, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The KOICA delegation was led by Country Director Eunsub Kim.
Odeyemi hailed KOICA and the government of South Korea for supporting Nigeria’s digital inclusion drive.
According to her, the devices will significantly strengthen NIPOST’s capacity to offer accessible NIN registration services nationwide, especially in remote and underserved areas.
She added that the initiative supports the Federal Government’s drive to expand access to essential public services, noting that NIPOST’s wide national presence makes it a key player in inclusive digital identity enrollment and Nigeria’s digital transformation efforts.
On his part, Kim hailed NIPOST’s contributions to national digital development.
He said South Korea’s support for Nigeria is part of an ongoing project tagged ‘Building Foundations Towards Digital Governance in Nigeria’.
Kim explained that the devices are equipped with pre-installed enrollment software, along with training and deployment support.
