Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has said that there is no rancour over the Olubadan stool warning rumour monger to desist from such act.
Makinde stated this while hosting his deputy, Bayo Lawal, and other Muslim faithful within the government who paid him an Eid-el Fitri homage at his Ikolaba residence on Wednesday in Ibadan.
The nomination of the next Olubadan has been reportedly been enmeshed in controversy since the death of Oba Lekan Balogun on March 15.
It was gathered that a cold war is raging among the kingmakers who are members of Olubadan-In-Council.
Makinde has, however, pledged that he will not allow anyone to cause a crisis over the issue.
The governor warned those whose stock-in-trade was to look at things that will divide the state and its people to look for something else to do.
“Some people have kept talking about the Ibadan Chieftaincy System, saying it has got issues and all of that. But I said the Obas-in-Council are yet to make their nomination. When they make it, it will come to me and I will either say yes or no. But that has not happened. So, why are people focusing on things that are capable of dividing us?
“Those whose stock in trade is to keep looking for what to divide us should look for something else to do. They should rather focus on things that will unite us,” he said.
He also seized the opportunity to call on the people of the state to come out en masse to vote during the local government election, slated for April 27.
