The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad ( SIS) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC) has successfully carried out an intelligence driven raid at Umuolechi Obuzor -Asa Community in Ukwa West LGAof Abia State.
A statement by Afolabi Babawale, NSCDC National public relations officer stated that the raid was carried out on Friday 02/05/2025 after a credible intelligence tip off.
“about 3000 liters of suspected vandalized and stolen crude oil was discovered concealing both in a Toyota Camry vehicle with registration number KSF 691 HK and inside a residential building already packaged in a cellophane bags and sacks for onward movement to illegal refining site.
“The operation is another testament to the unwavering and firm decision and commitment of the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni CFR PhD to rid the oil sector of all the criminal elements and non state actors..
“It is also a way of assuring the government and the host communities of the NSCDC readiness to restore environmental safety in oil producing areas.
“Efforts are ongoing to track down the faces and individuals behind these atrocities as they all voted with their feet on sighting personnel of the NSCDC CG SIS.”
