The palace of the Oba of Lagos,Rilwan Akiolu was on tuesday afternoon gutted by fire.The monarch is said to have been taken to a safe place.
The real cause of the fire outbreak is still unknown at the moment but it was said to have affected a section of the palace where traditional regalia were kept.
According to NEMA,the fire was quickly nipped in the bud by the various emergency agencies on ground.
Though Nigerians are beginning to link the fire outbreak to the cold war between the Ooni of Ife and Akiolu,it is still unclear the cause of the fire.
It was gathered that the fire started at about 3.00 pm.
As the fire raged on, Akiolu was said to have been relocated from the palace to a safe place.
The incident is coming barely one week after the Oba publicly shunned the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Oba Ogunwusi in his reaction denied planning to curse Oba Akiolu.
