Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has announced Friday November 15, 2024 as a work-free day for civil and public servants ahead of the local government election scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
According to the Ogun Bureau of Service Matters, Office of the Head of Service, the work-free day is intended to give workers the opportunity to travel to their respective local government areas to participate in the elections.
The elections, organized by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), will see the election of chairpersons for Ogun State’s twenty local government areas and councillors for its 236 wards.
“This initiative underscores the administration’s dedication to fostering inclusiveness and participatory democracy.
” Permanent Secretaries and heads of government agencies have been advised to ensure compliance with this directive,” the statement concluded.
