The Old Students 79/84 Set of the Akure Muslim College, Akure, Ondo State, has honoured one of their own, the Ondo State Head Of Service; Pastor Kayode Ogundele; in a reunion ceremony put together by members of the association.

The event which held on Saturday, at SITA hall, Akure, had in attendance scores of old students of the Set, and other dignitaries from across all walks of life.

Welcoming members of the Set to the event, the Convener of the Reunion; Engr. (Dr.) Felix Adepeju Abidakun Elerunndu; charged his fellow old students to imbibe the attitude of team spirit in moving the association forward.

While appreciating Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for appointing one of their own; Pastor Kayode Ogundele; as the Ondo State Head of Service, Felix Elerunndu; who is a Chief Engineer with Radisson Hotel Group, a renowned conglomerate in the hospitality industry; lauded the antecedents of Ogundele and urged him to keep up his noble character and the good works he has been known for over the years.

One after the other, the old students recounted memories of their days in Akure Muslim College as students and proffered ideas and ways of moving the association forward.

Also speaking in different interviews, the first Senior Prefects boy and girl of the College; Alhaji Suleiman Jamiu and Mrs. Idowu Adesida, encouraged members of the Set not to forget their root which is the Akure Muslim College, and do everything possible in moving the College prosperously forward.

Responding to the goodwill messages, Pastor Ogundele thanked his co-mates of 1979-1984 Set for the honour done to him.

He promised to sustain the affable and convivial relationship amongst them, despite the tight schedules and demands of his present position as the state’s Head of Service.

While stating his willingness to be of assistance to any member of the association seeking his help by the virtue of his office, Ogundele reiterated his commitment to pushing forward the lofty ideals of the association.
