Ahead of the October 10, 2020, Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State, Federal lawmakers from the state have declared their support for the re-election bid of Governor; Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; for a second term in office.

This position was made known by a member of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly representing Odigbo/Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Federal Constituency of Ondo State; Hon. Samuel Mayowa Akinfolarin; while speaking with newsmen on Thursday after a meeting of Odigbo Stakeholders with the Governor at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office.

While acknowledging that mistakes have been made in the past, Hon. Akinfolarin stated that lessons have been learnt, and the lawmakers of Ondo State at the Federal level; in particular, and the entire people of the state; in general, are now united and speaking with one voice about the resoluteness of the re-election of the Governor for a second term in office.

Affirming also the synergy between members of the National Assembly from Ondo State and the State Government, Hon. Akinfolarin announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is solidly on ground.

“APC is solidly on ground. As a system, we made mistakes in the past, and we have learnt from it. This coming dispensation is going to be very eventful in the sense that you are going to see a lot of collaboration and a lot of synergy in the National Assembly between we; the Federal legislators; and the State Government. Looking at it from what happened in the past, we have learnt our lessons and we’re ready to make amends for Ondo State to move forward under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in his second term in office.”

Specifically talking about the constituency which he represents, Akinfolarin praised the transformations witnessed; especially in terms of infrastructural developments.

“In the constituency where I represent, and in my local government, we have really witnessed a lot of transformation in terms of infrastructural developments. Go to Ore now, you’ll see that Ore is becoming a real city. Go to Ore Industrial Park, there is real transformation there. Should we talk about the various road constructions and rehabilitations in Araromi-Obu, or the rehabilitation of Schools and Health Centres across Odigbo Local Government Area? Governor Akeredolu is doing well. APC is on ground in Ondo State. And if you see someone that is doing well, you’re bound to support him to do more. On unequivocal terms, we’re in support of Akeredolu both spiritually, physically and financially.”

Speaking in the same vein, the Ondo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Sanitation and Public Hygiene; Mrs. Yetunde Adeyanju; saluted the efforts of Governor Akeredolu for the developmental strides in Odigbo Local Government. She therefore; on behalf of the leaders from the local government; pledged their unflinching support for the second term ambition of the Governor.
