Eyitayo Jegede have won the Primary Election of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State and have thus, emerged as the flag bearer of the Party for the October gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
While Jegede polled 888 to become the candidate of the Party, Agboola Ajayi came second with 657 votes, and Eddy Olafeso came third with 175 votes
He was announced by the Chairman Primary Election Committee, who is also the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
With this development, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN will face Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the main election coming up on the 10th of October, 2020.
Over 2000 party delegates participated at the PDP primary election at the International Culture and Event Centre (The Dome), in Akure.
The sorting and counting ended the following day by 12:22am.
