Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the incident occurred at around 5:47am on Saturday.
He disclosed that while one person died on the spot, several others were injured.
The injured victims were rushed to Birniwa General Hospital for examination and treatment.
Adam added that the police did not suspect any foul play as the building that collapsed was built with mud.
