The meeting of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Governors is under way in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The Governors are expected to discuss among other issues the critical security situation in Nigeria and the way forward for the Party ahead of the 2023 Elections in Nigeria.
The meeting which was declared open by the Chairman of the Governor’s Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
The meeting has in attendance Governors Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Nyesom Wike, Rivers, Godwin Obaseki of Edo and Ishaku Darius of Taraba.
Others are host Governor Samuel Ortom,Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta,Swyi Makinde of Oyo, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom while the Governor of Bauchi State is represented by his Deputy.
The National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus is also present at the meeting.
A communique is expected from the meeting that has gone into a closed door session.
