The Minister for Labour and Employment, Simon Bako Lalong, has hailed the judgement of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which sacked Bali and declared him winner of Plateau South Senatorial election.
Recall that the tribunal sitting in Jos on Monday nullified the election of Napoleon Bali of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because of the party’s refusal to respect the order of a Jos High court to conduct ward congresses before the last general elections.
The former governor of Plateau State in a statement on Tuesday dedicated his victory to God adding that its victory for democracy and justice.
He commended the tribunal for painstakingly scrutinising his arguments and presentations of his party, the APC, which culminated in him being declared the duly elected Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District.
The Labour Minister praised his supporters and leadership and members of the APC in Plateau State for remaining steadfast and remaining calm while awaiting the verdict of the tribunal.
He urged them to continue to maintain peace as they celebrate, even if his opponent decides to appeal the judgement, which is his constitutionally guaranteed right.
