Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP) have smashed a militia gang in Plateau State, arresting 15 suspects and seizing a deadly cache of arms in a daring operation.

‎The offensive, carried out on September 19, 2025, was launched after credible intelligence revealed the activities of militias who torched huts at Jamrop Village in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.

‎“During the technology-enabled operation, our troops intercepted 15 armed militias directly linked to the arson attack,” said Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of JTF OPEP. “We also recovered fifteen fabricated rifles, one hundred and five cartridges, and other sundry items.”

‎He disclosed that the suspects are now in custody, with manhunts ongoing for others who fled the scene.

‎Reassuring the public of continued military vigilance, Major Zhakom declared:
‎“Troops of 3 Division/JTF OPEP are redoubling their efforts and improving operational awareness to secure the Joint Operations Area. The activities of criminal individuals will no longer go unchecked. Their identities must be exposed and dealt with in accordance with the law.”

‎The successful crackdown is the latest in a string of military actions aimed at halting the menace of armed groups terrorizing communities in Plateau State.
