Eyewitness accounts reveal that the argument, which began over an undisclosed issue, escalated into a deadly altercation.

The suspect, identified as a scavenger, reportedly pulled out a dagger and slit the victim’s throat. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Prince Omoge was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

The incident triggered swift action from both residents and security agencies.

The Chairman of Okitipupa council, Andrew Ogunsakin, confirmed the arrest of a suspect named Machido Abubakar.

He commended the prompt response of security operatives who tracked down and detained the suspect within hours. Ogunsakin extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and assured them of full support in their pursuit of justice.

He also met with local leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and representatives of the Hausa/Fulani community to promote peace and unity among residents.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, also confirmed the incident and the arrest, stating that the suspect is currently in police custody. The community has been urged to remain calm as investigations continue.
