Abiodun Aremu, a Nigerian activist and secretary of the Joint Action Front (JAF) is dead.
He was reportedly hit by a vehicle near his residence in Ota, Ogun State.
According to reports, Aremu was said to be crossing the road when he was struck on Sunday, October 12th.
Although he was immediately rushed to the hospital, but was confirmed dead on arrival. He was 65.
Reacting to the death, the deceased’s family and the Labour movement announced the burial will hold o October 23 to enable the movement to honour him.
Owei Lakemfa, the former secretary-general of the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity and ex-acting general secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, in a statement issued on behalf of the labour movement, disclosed the new date would allow for proper mobilisation and attendance.
He said the burial would now hold on Thursday, October 23, at Number 30, Kabiru Fatoye Street, opposite Alaka Field, Ijako Sugar Bus Stop, Ifo Road, along the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway.
