The remains of 21 years old, 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Christianah Idowu, who was allegedly abducted and murdered by one Ayomide Adeleye, have been buried at Sabo Ikorodu cemetery in Lagos.
Idowu was reported by her family members to have gone missing on August 19 after setting out to the Yaba area of Lagos, where she does her IT.
The killer, Ayomide, a 200-level student of Philosophy at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, had contacted her family members, demanding N1.5m. However, her family could only raise N350,000 and paid the sum on August 22.
He was subsequently arrested after the military tracked the suspect to his house and found Idowu’s phone with him.
In his confession to the army, Adeleye detailed how he invited Idowu into his house, attempted to take advantage of her, killed her and then sent a picture of her propped-up dead body to her widowed mother.
In 2018, Ayomide’s ex-girlfriend was allegedly killed in the same manner. Also in 2020, his biological sister met the same fate.
