The Delta state government has ordered the School of Nursing Agbor to withdraw a letter of query issued to a student who released a video of her colleagues singing a controversial welcome song for Oluremi Tinubu.
The school queried the student for releasing such a controversial video on social media.
Edobor was earlier issued a query by the college for posting the video of the nursing students refusing to eulogise Tinubu’s wife in a song during a ‘health programme and distribution of 10,000 professional kits’ event in Asaba.
The compere had raised a song eulogising Mrs Tinubu, saying, “Na awa mama be this; we no get another one,” but the nursing students rejected his song, responding, “Na your mama be this.”
In a video posted online this morning, the state Commissioner for Health, Joseph Onojaeme, said he has ordered the school authorities to withdraw the letter.
He also mentioned that he has spoken to the student in question and she has confirmed that indeed the letter has been withdrawn.
‘’The letter of query issued to the student of School of Nursing Agbor. I have instructed the provost to withdraw the letter.
“We do not want to victimize any of the students. I have also reached out to the student in question and she has confirmed to me that the letter was withdrawn late yesterday night” he said.
