A large number of women in Rivers State, on Monday, staged a rally in Port Harcourt, the state capital, to support for the declaration of a state of emergency in the state.
The protest comes barely four days after supporters of the suspended Governor Fubara staged a protest demanding his reinstatement.
According to the pro-emergency rule protesters, the state is in need of peace and not the embattled governor, countering the previous rally.
The women carried placards that read: “State of Emergency Is Constitutional,” “No Tribal War in Rivers State, No More Fubara,” “We Need Peace, Not Fubara,” among others.
