Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, has described as ‘barbaric’ the attack on a vehicle belonging to the lawmaker representing Okitipupa Constituency I, Chris Ayebusiwa.
Ayebusiwa had cried out over an attack on his aides in Akure, the state capital, at the weekend by thugs he alleged to be loyal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa
AHe said that three of his staffers, including the driver and security officer, were inside the vehicle.
Oladiji, who condemned the attack said the incident was capable of disturbing the existing peace in the state.
The Speaker, in a statement issued by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Olatunji Oshati, urged individuals to refrain from pointing fingers at any group.
While expressinh displeasure at the development, the speaker called on law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter, with a view to bringing perpetrators to book.
Oladiji, who sympathised with Ayebusiwa on the incident, described the action of the attackers as uncalled for, noting that it was capable of disrupting the existing peace in the state
