The Players and officials of the Super Eagle have arrived Benin Republic ahead of the African cup of nations qualifer game on Saturday.
According to a tweet on the official twitter account of the super Eagles,the team have settled in ,in Cotonou, “We have arrived in Porto Novo. We also had our mandatory Covid test done at the point of entry,” read a tweet on the team’s official handle. “We’ve settled in and lodged at the Golden Tulip Le Diplomat Hotel in Cotonou.”
Players and official of the Super Eagles left Nigeria earlier on Friday for their game against Benin Republic on Saturday.
The Eagles would be facing the Squirrel of Benin Republic in an African Cup of Nations qualifier game at the Stade Charles de Gaulle.
After Saturday’s encounter, the team will return to Nigeria to face Lesotho in another AFCON qualifier on Tuesday in Lagos State.
Rohr’s men are top of Group L standings after four games in which they have amassed eight points with their neighbours trailing them by just a point.
As previously announced by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, the squad left in a speed boat.
” The team opted to travel by boats, because of the bad roads between the two countries and the many protocols for a short flight across the border,” Pinnick stated.
The players were in high spirits as they boarded the boat.
