Videos and Pictures circulating online show the Party Chairman on the floor while the thugs were beating him up. Also severely beaten was Sola Ajisafe, an Akure- based legal practitioner known for his critical commentaries on the Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

Adetimehin had yesterday called a stakeholders meeting of the party, comprising 20 leaders per Loca Government. The purpose of the meeting was to allow these leaders interact with members of the Congress Committee who came from Abuja to conduct the APC Ward Congresses in the 203 wards in Ondo State.

The meeting was scheduled to be held at the State Secretariat Tuesday February 17, 2026. Soon after the leaders arrived, thugs believed to members of the NURTW swooped on the venue and unleashed mayhem, leading scores injured while others scattered in different directions.

Speaking to journalists after his rescue, Adetimehin condemned the attack, he said;

“Yesterday, the National Secretariat of our great party sent in Congress Committee and Appeal Committee we all met at the State Secretariat with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Party Affairs, Hon Babatunde Kolawole and we all greed that their will be a stakeholders meeting will be held today, the Governor called me and I narrated the whole thing

“This morning we all assembled at the party Secretariat, suddenly the NURTW led by his Chairman, Odudu came in forced fully, beat everybody that we should leave that the Governor owns the party and nobody should his authority and we said we are not challenging his authority

“Thereafter they throw me on the ground, collected all my phones, they beat nonsense out of me”
