UNHCR Team Visits IDPs Camp in Sokoto

The officials from the United Nations Higher Commission for Refugees have been to Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Gandi town of Rabah local government area of Sokoto State to have an interaction with the inhabitants of the camp established following a banditry attacks two years.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Sokoto state Zakkat and Endowment Commission, Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, informed the IDPs and camp officials that the delegation hails all the way from the United Nations Higher Commission for Refugees, a UN body responsible for providing soccur to people displaced by conflicts and disasters around the globe and there to take a stock of situation for possible intervention.

Similarly the camp secretary Malam Ibrahim Gandi gave comprehensive details and statistics of the camp including the IDPs population, places, number of births and death record so far as well as magnitude of wealth incurred as a result of the armed banditry
