The Governing Council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has confirmed the appointment of Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
Her appointment was confirmed during a virtual meeting by the Council on Tuesday August 25, 2020.

Prof. Ogunsola was elected on Monday by the Senate following the Federal Government’s directive that embattled Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, and Council chair, Dr. Wale Babalakin, to step aside from official duties while the Special Visitation Panel it set up looks into the university’s affairs.
Ogunsola broke UNILAG’s 58-year record by becoming the first female to be appointed as an acting VC of the institution since it was founded in 1962
