Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has been appointed Chairman of the Central Coordination Committee for the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2026 National Convention.
The appointment was announced by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as part of preparations for the national convention scheduled to hold in 2026.
Also appointed as Vice Chairman of the committee is the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, while the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, will serve as Secretary.
According to the party, the 73-member Central Coordination Committee is made up of serving and former governors, principal officers of the party, and other key stakeholders drawn from across the country.
The committee is mandated to oversee and coordinate all activities leading to the successful organisation of the national convention, including logistics, security, accreditation, venue arrangements and general planning.
The APC leadership said the constitution of the committee underscores the party’s commitment to conducting a credible, transparent and well-organised convention ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Further details on the convention timetable and related activities are expected to be released by the party in due course.
