Vice President Kashim Shettima has led the federal Government delegation to Kebbi State following the recent attack on a Government Girls secondary school and the abduction of 25 schoolgirls.
Upon arrival in Birnin Kebbi, the delegation was received by the State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, and held high-level discussions on the recent security incident that affected the state.
Delivering the message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Shettima reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safe rescue and return of all abducted students.
He also conveyed the President’s deep concern over the incident and his directive that all security and response agencies intensify coordinated efforts to address the situation.
The Vice President commiserated with the State Government, the affected community, and the families of those who lost their lives in the attack.
He assured them of the Federal Government’s readiness to provide all necessary support to cushion the impact of the tragedy and strengthen security around schools and vulnerable communities.
In his response, Governor Idris expressed profound appreciation to the Vice President for the visit and to President Tinubu for his firm assurances and swift intervention.
He pledged the State Government’s continued cooperation with security agencies and federal authorities to restore peace and ensure the safe return of the abducted students.
