The Speaker of Ekiti State, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye, has described the death of the Saribi of Iyin Ekiti, Chief George Ojo as a great loss of a consistent progressive politician.
The Speaker in a release signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, made this known to the press
Afuye lamented that the All Progressive Congress and the entire State would miss Chief Ojo who served as a member of Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, till his death.
“Chief George Ojo, the Saribi of Iyin Ekiti who was once the Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission, meant a lot to many people. He was a trained teacher and a progressive politician to the core. He never left the progressive party since the very first day he joined politics irrespective of any disagreement he might have with anyone,” Afuye said.
The Speaker therefore prayed that God would grant the family left behind by Chief Saribi the fortitude to bear the huge loss. Having described late Saribi as a bold and blunt politician, Afuye noted that the space left behind by the politician would be very hard for APC to fill.
