Nigerian singer, Davido has disclosed that he chose Akwa Ibom State for his music concert due to its quality facilities.
Speaking at a pre-concert reception in Uyo, Davido commended the State governor, Umo Eno, adding that the state’s inherent potentials and everything there is, is “beautiful.” He also hailed the Eno for maintaining peace, security and providing platforms for youths to excel.
Davido stated that Akwa Ibom was one of the top five places he considered for the concert, and the state’s facilities stood out. “When we were looking around Africa, five places came, and Akwa Ibom was at the top of the list. A lot of people are flying from other states that don’t have this type of facility,” he said.
The music icon expressed his excitement about the concert, noting that the stadium was already filled up. “You have a standard facility, that’s why we are starting here. As time goes, we will keep doing the other states and I am just excited the stadium is already filled up, so let’s get ready and shut it down.”
Governor Eno also appreciated Davido for being an inspiration to the younger generation and for sharing the stage with local entertainers.
In a post on social media the Governor wrote;
“Last night, we hosted music icon Davido here in Akwa Ibom, and he made history by choosing our State as the first stop in Nigeria for his global tour.
“He said Akwa Ibom stood out because of our world-class facilities, peace, and hospitality, describing everything about our State as beautiful.
“I appreciate Davido for recognising our efforts to make Akwa Ibom a youth-friendly and tourism-driven State. His success story inspires our young people to believe that with commitment and consistency, their dreams are possible.
“Akwa Ibom is open, peaceful, and ready, not just for entertainment, but for investment and growth.”
