Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara has described the late Emir of Biu,Umar Mustapha Aliyu as a person of proven integrity and a first class traditional ruler who ruled with absolute honesty and fear of Almighty Allah.
Zulum stated this on Wednesday during his condolence visit to the Emir’s Palace in Biu town.
The Governor said the lost is a huge one not only to people of Biu but the entire state explaning that through out his reign, the royal father has played key role in promoting peace and unity in his dormain.

Appointed June 1989 as 28th Emir of Biu, the late Umar Mustapha died on Tuesday at the age of 80.
The late emir was born on the 9th of November 1940 in Biu, and worked with the public service before ascending the throne in 1989.
He left behind four wives, dozens of children, and over 200 grandchildren.
